About

Ethos

Supply Paper Co. is a small design and paper goods company from Sydney, Australia.

We design with consideration and utility – our paper goods are hardworking and made to be battered, folded, creased and used in practise day after day.

Our process

We believe, and invest in sustainable materials (made in Australia where possible), printing and finishing with local manufacturers, and are always working to refine our process and practices to reduce and improve. It is not a simple or easy option, but in our opinion brings a value to our products that holds to our standards of quality and good design.

Our papers are carefully chosen for form and function, and as much care is taken to ensure they are sourced from certified paper mills (made in Australia, where possible), with as much recycled and post consumer recycled content as possible.

The printers and binders we work with are local and family run, and have been in trade for generations. It is our aim to partner with suppliers and  manufacturers that are skilled in their specific trades, take care and pride in their work and understand what we are trying to achieve.

Our packaging is deliberately minimal, utilising recycled papers and shipping boxes, newspaper shred, collected rubber bands, string offcuts and without the use of plastic.

Jessie James

Designer

My childhood was spent making with paper – I would spend hours drawing, cutting, folding and writing stories. My dad would read to me every night, and was himself an excellent writer (in his day he routinely won prizes in short story and writing competitions), and so I have also always appreciated books and anything printed on paper.

My formal studies are in Visual Communications from The University of Technology, Sydney.

Working as a graphic designer, I found it difficult to find the kind of paper goods I would want to have and use everyday – products made simply and with utility, using minimal design and hardworking materials. I started Supply Paper Co. with an idea for a very simple lid and base kraft box with finger hole cuts into the lid, which was the first product I designed and had made offshore. Since then, my focus has become designing, printing and manufacturing in Australia, while training in traditional bookbinding and box making.
